James looking tired

First things first, standard blog disclaimer: This is a personal blog, and my opinions do not necessarily reflect those of my employers past or present.

I’m James Sylvanus, a former development director. I’ve been programming in something or other for about 18 years, with a brief detour into graphic design, so web development is a natural fit. I write a lot of PHP, but tinker in just about every language I can spare the time to get into. Front-end and back-end development are both in my wheelhouse.

This site is here for me to post various reflections and thoughts on life as a Developer. Topics should include development, technology, leadership and management. I may occasionally post about nerdy hardware like split keyboards and vertical mice. I’ll probably mention VIM more than once or twice. I’m super psyched about virtual reality so I’ll probably wander into that now and then. You get the idea; High level blog (which is to say High Level as a programming language may be considered high level).

This blog is built on Octopress 3.0. I like and recommend it.
